Talk by Mr Jasper Tsang
Jasper Tsang, President of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, addressed children in our Summer Programme on 29 July 2016. Not only did he teach the children the different functions of the executive, the legislature and the judiciary, he also answered many questions from the children - from what his own childhood dream was, to whether he enjoyed his work as a legislative councillor. Special thanks to Slaughter and May for hosting the talk in its boardroom - the children really enjoyed the amazing harbour views from its office!
Visit to the Legislative Council, 29 July 2016
The special event of our Summer Programme this year was a tour to the Legislative Council! The aim was to raise the children's awareness of social and political issues whilst introducing them to one of the most important institutions of Hong Kong. The guided educational tour was followed by a mock LegCo debate on whether to introduce more controls over light pollution in Hong Kong. It was a fulfilling day to both the volunteers and the students!
